Help! No Paint Code!

I am ordering a new bed lid and they need a paint code. So, OK, it's supposed to be on the label on the inside of the driver's door jamb: no problem, right?

Well, I go and look at the label and instead of a paint code to the right of the "paint code" area, there's NOTHING! Now, my truck DOES have paint, and the build sheet says "Pacific Green Clearcoat," so I know what color it is, but what's up with no code being where it's supposed to be and what do I tell the bed lid mfg?????

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up

Hi jaymz, you know I have always thought you had one of the most attractive F-150s on this board.

The 1997 Pacific Green Metallic Clearcoat Ford Paint code is 'PS'.

Glad I could help.

Thanks for the info and compliment, Raoul. Story on the lid is this: Last Wed. evening we experienced some horrific winds here and a gust somehow got under my closed and latched lid and ripped it right off the truck, and blew it 40 yds away into a plowed field! I'll bet the guy behind me in the Escort has some brown stains on his seat. Looked just like Dorothy's house lifting off the foundation in "The Wizard of Oz." Anyway, the difference between fixing it and replacing with new is a wash, so it's gonna be a new one.

I'm always amazed at the wealth of seemingly trivial, but ultimately useful knowledge in the heads of people on this board! Thanks again!
