Question What the hell are these????

We were talking about bed liners in another thread and I started wondering about the two oval shaped plastic cut outs on the front wall of the bed. They are in the lower corners. One can be seen in this picture of the 2001 Screw from the gallerie section.

It's proably something simple but I just want to know....

I'm guessing here but I'd say it's in case you want to run some wires into the bed, like if you had a shell with lights or something.

Running wires would be my guess to. At least that would be what I would use them for.

I have them in my truck but they sprayed line-X over them. Wonder if I should have told them not to do that...

could be for wires, could be for air flow in the event you put on a tonneau (not unlike the vents at the rear of the cab).

Nah. Those are for ice/water drainage should you consider doing a bed-pool-kegerator conversion. Just imagine dumping 10 kegs in there, jump in, and gulp all you can. Dang! Ice cold ZiegenBock! Where are the chicks in bikini??

You are right on the money. I work at one of those assembly plants. The purpose you state is exactly what they're for. The bed is hung by chains and dipped/drug thru the electro coat ('e-coat' as its called) nose first. Those holes in the front keep the bed from 'floating' as it just starts into the tank (before it gets to the back and comes in thru the t/gate hole).

I will readily admit the cooler/hot tub idea is a great bonus usage
