clay bar

I have a few questions. I have a 97 f150. It has been waxed alot but never claybarred. Who makes the best one? How much does it cost? Will i need to strip the wax or anything? and finally how much time will it take?

I prefer Mothers Clay Bar. The other clay bars I have tried are soft and tend to leave streaks of clay. The kit from Mothers costs $20. It comes with the claybar, quick detailer, and a small bottle of cleaner wax. It is enough clay to do your truck a few times.

You should probably try to strip the wax. The best way to strip wash quickly is to wash it with Dawn Soap.

Last time I clayed by truck it took about 1 1/2 hours. Since you have never done it before you may have to work more. It could take 3 or 4 hours but believe me, It is worth it!

Thumbs up

I agree with Intel486, I use the Mothers Clay Bar too. It really works wonders on the impurities on your paint.

It is well worth the cost.
