Collision . . . help!

Hey everyone,

Well I had a little run in with a wall inside the parkade I use. The surface was slick, couldn't turn, brakes were useless, on a decline and the rest is history.

I hit the wall going no more than around 3 or 5 mph so it was fairly low speed but the whole front right bumper is pushed in and the front right quarter panel looks as though it's been lifted up about half an inch or so.

I've had a look underneath and it just appears to be the bumper . . . . nothing suspension related that I can see. The only noticeable thing when driving is the bumper rubs the tire on hard left turns and the allignmemt seems out of wack . . . . I guess that's to be expected.

I take er in to get the insurance quote on Friday but I was just wondering if there is any other areas I should be looking at for potential damage that may not be so "obvious"? Are low spped collisions like this generally only body damage or can there be problems with the suspension or other areas? Any help would be appreciated.

It's a 97 F-150 4x4 EC SB 4.6 Auto

Thanks for the help,

This has been a really s_____ month

I don't know what problems you can expect to have with suspension and steering but I can say that you need to get the insurance to either pay for OEM Ford parts, like the bumper, or get a check and buy them yourself on eBay or some other such venue.

The less expensive competitor parts are absolutely pityful in quality. I had my front bumper replaced after and accident last winter and the chrome looks like crap. We made the mistake of not demanding Ford replacement parts.
