Question 02 Signal Mirrors

Does anyone know if the 2002 Signal Mirrors (turn signal in mirror cover) can be retrofitted to a 2000 model?

I know the covers on the 2000 snap on and off, but has the mirror shape/design been modified for 2002?

Thanks!

If the 2000 mirrors snap on and off, I think the 2002's should do the same. And the body styles have'nt changed. Yet.

They are the same, just checked at the Ford dealer. Hope that helps you. I did the mod on my 2000 with 2001 mirrors, You have to replace the whole mirror, but then it simply plugs into factory harness...
Another way to do it is, use the turn signal mirror covers and get the factory wire harness and route it threw your current mirrors. You will have to cut and splice that harness to get it into your current mirrors...Good Luck

Thanks for the information!

I checked some 2002s on the lot over the weekend and it looks like the mirror covers do interchange, but i appreciate the confirmation

harleyrules, do your 2001 mirrors have the signal in the mirror glass or on the mirror cover? And did you need to change the harness?

I checked the 2000/2001 EVTM and they seem to show the same wiring harness, electrical connector pinouts etc for the power mirrors.

I guess I will need to check my actual harness and see what connectors I have

I have the turn signals in the mirror cover not on the glass. The wire harness for the power mirror is the same for the power mirror with turn signal verus without except it is missing 2 wires for the turn signals.... If that makes any sense to you,,, Let me know if I can help you any further.

I have a 97 w/o the mirror lights. Could I just change the mirror covers for the 2002 covers with light and then splice the wiring?
If not, what is the price of the complete mirror?

I don't believe the 97's are wired up for the turn signal mirrors, but you might want to check with ford on that. The mirrors cost me $150.00 which I got from a member on this board. Good luck

Can these mirrors be used on an XL truck that currently has manual mirrors (Is there wiring already there for the turn signal, and if so, can the mirror be adjusted by hand since I dont have the control switch to operate the adjustment motor inside the mirror)? The truck is a 2000 model

Thanks
