I am new to the board . Great site and the info here is great. A couple of weeks ago in really cold weather I pulled up on the outside handle quick and it slipped back real hard , and now intermittingly the door open light comes on and the interior light stays on, it eventually goes out , but the door handle seems a little looser than it should be. Do I need a new latch or switch or both? Any help would be much appreciated.

 

Sounds like you may want to check into getting a new handle put on, or something inside that attaches to the latch may be loose. If it doesn't feel very loose to you, try spraying WD-40 along the inside of the door where any of the contacts may be that let the lights turn on and off. My bet would be a new handle, though.
