Dent in Roof

Anybody got in the bed of their truck and noticed a dent in the roof on the drivers side next to the door? You can only see it if your standing in the bed. I have one and their is no scratch on the paint as to indicate something hitting it. The sheet metal is very thin. I have not had anything hit it that I know about.

Ok, I found a TSB on this roof dent from 1998 F-150's. My question is will Ford still cover this even though my truck is a 2001? The dent is caused from the tolarance being off when they formed the metal on the roof. I have the exact problem that the TSB describes. I looked at the TSB's for 01 but their is not one for this year. Will they still cover this?

Didn't notice the specific dent you mentioned but within two weeks of bringing home my nice shiny new truck, I had six or seven nice dings in the roof from it being pelted by acorns. :-(

I now have two years supply of prime white oak firewood. :-)

And yes....the sheet metal on the roof is as thin as paper.

Got the same kind of dent . . . it sets inboard of the drainage canal on the driver's side, in line with the space between the two doors . . . !

Anybody have anymore info on a TSB . . . ?

Natty,

Any relation to Hawkeye?

Bob

Hey Swampview,

There is a TSB # 98-26-6
This is for a 98 F-150. I found it on AllData.com
I know it's for a 98 but I mean your truck and mine is the same bodystyle a 98. I'm having some warrenty work done in week or so and I'm gonna ask the guy at Ford about it and mention the TSB number.
Let me know is you find anything else out about this.

Unbelievable. My '99 has this dent and all this time I thought it somehow dented during delivery or something. I can't believe we've discovered another Ford screw up on these trucks. Has anybody had this fixed?
