rust...

I recently bought a brand new Ranger and Ford told me that they only warranty the rust that starts from the inside out (and thats only if you purchase the special paint protection package at the time of sell). If its on the outside body panels they don't cover it unless it has eaten completley through the body panel, I believe.

You really need to read the warranty booklet that came with the truck.

My '97 F-150 has 5 year/Unlimited milage warranty for perforation rust which means it does actually have to go through the panel.

Unhappy

I still haven't taken mine to the dealer yet, I'm afraid they will just say "Too bad." , and send me on my way. I have heard of many guys getting there rust fixed for free, though. I my take a drive over today and see what they say about it. I dread it, for sure.,,,,,98
