Question Squeeking noise, please help!!

Whenever I turn my steering wheel there is a squeeking loud noise, sounds like something is dry, I greased the two places in the arms that I could underneath the truck and is still happens. Any ideas on what it could be to give me some direction. Thanks.

sqeak

Mine had, I repeat had the squeak. I got one of those needle things that fit on a grease gun and went into the top of the pitman arm boot with some grease and the sqeak went away.

Chances are 9 out of 10 it's the pitman arm, could be something else, I wouldnt know w/ out hearing it myself. I had this problem over the summer, bugged me like crazy, greased, and then one day it just went away. Guess it got the point I was sick of it's moaning.

Interesting. My pitman arm is squeaking now, but I was under the impression that you couldn't get any grease in there. That there was no grease nipple. I was about to run it into the dealer next week for a replacement ( I was quoted about $200 incl labour) but if I can grease her up I will. I don't even know what a pitman arm is. Any hints on how to apply some grease to it? Thanks...Jack.
