O6 F150 Supercab won't open the rear door, driver side. The door handle operates but the door doesn't latch, like the rod came loose or something. What's the best way to get to this, keeping in mind I can't open the door.

Get on the back seat and remove the window trim, it snaps out. Wiggle and pull it should pop loose. Remove the screws/fasteners , then LIFT the panel up and out. At that point you should be able to operate the mechanism to open/repair the door.

I found a cable for an extended cab one, is this the same as supercab? I guess I need to tear it apart to see if the cable's the right one.

If it is like my 2002 Supercab, replacing the OE cable with another one is a temporary fix and it will fail again. If it is the same this is what you need to do to fix it permanently.
