Aluminum bed side replacement

I'll assume this is where the body men collect. I need to replace the bed side panel on a 2015 F-150.
I have read the installation kit instructions that come with the OEM replacement panel.
My question is.... is there a poor man way of attaching the box side? I don't aluminum mig weld and I don't have the gun to install the special rivets in the kit.

You'll need an aluminum mig welder at minimum.

The self piercing rivets can be put on with a c-clamp chain breaker. Although slow, it can be done.

I got a nice Hobart multi-process welder that can weld steel and aluminum. I love it. I know that doesn't help... but it's nice to have these neato tools sitting around the shop.

Thanks for the info. In the above video I see lots of bonding material and simple pop rivets. At the end he appears to be adding metal piercing rivets in key areas.
Is this what you mean? Either an aluminum weld or the metal piercing rivets in key areas?

Yes, you add the metal piercing rivets per manufacturers specs.

To be honest, welding is the easiest than messing with rivets.

Perfect. I can bond, I can pop rivet, then I can take it easily to an aluminum welder guy nearby for the key areas.

T H A N K S for the help.
