New Door

Ok, had the crack in my door. The dealer replaced the door , Painted the door to match the rest of the White truck. I picked the truck up, and the replaced door had a organge tint to it, they said they would need to rebuff the door. Next week took it back to the Dealer they rebuffed the door. I looked at the door and it still had the organge tint but not as bad, but still noticable. Mentioned it to the dealer and they said that is as good as it is going to get. What should I do?

Another problem I experience, and was wondering if anyone else had this problem is when I have my AC on but max cool temp, the driver side vents blow colder air than the passenger side vents. The dealer checked it out and said he didn't know what was going on. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Cool

Hey Curado,
Sounds like the dealer did a horrible match job on your door,no amount of buffing is going to change it. Unless you gripe enough to get them to repaint
it,your stuck with it I know it sounds funny, but white is one of the toughest colors to match. (infinite variables)

My A/C system also blows colder on the drivers side,my fiance has no complaints,LOL. She is under a blanket most of the time anyway. I think it
may be a normal aspect of these trucks. Maybe not? Hope you can get the door reshot,,,,,,98

bed paint match

Had my pass. door crack fixed by the body shop once, they welded the crack two weeks later the crack reappeared. Got new door. They did a ****-poor job matching the paint the first time . They only painted the repaired area and did not blend very well and the paint had a dark flop to it so it stuck out like a sore thumb. When they replaced trhe door they blended the rear of the cab and the front fender to the new door. There is no way in heck they can paint a door or panel to match, they have to blend it in with the body panels in the area. Hope they can get it right for you.

Unhappy

Exactly! I'm not sure if Ford pays them enough to blend the panels, though It should be a required practice,I have about 6 years of paint and body experience myself. There is about a 90% chance against getting a decent match from a single panel. One of the previous paint codes(DD)alone had 11 variables from the factory. We had an awesome color matching and mixing station at both Ford dealers I worked for,and we would still have to blend most jobs(no matter what) Insurance companies make allowances for blending, why can't Ford?,,,,,,98

I was just at a Ford dealer today, and Ford is only covering 5 hours of labor to fix the doors, which is not enough to do a good paint job on.
