Bumper Repair Question

I was hit in the bumper while I was at the store and it bent my bumper pretty bad. I ordered a replacement bumper but when I got the old bumper off I found that the bumper reinforcement (the piece that the bumper is mounted to) is also bent. So my new bumper will not fit because the bumper reinforcement is bent so that the holes do not line up. I tried to pry the bumper reinforcement to make it fit but was unsuccessful. Any tips? It looks like I'm going to have to buy a new bumper reinforcement as well. Ugh...

I had to replace my front bumper (97 F-150 XLT). I got the bumper cheap on the web (Amazon, I think). Then found I needed new mounts 'cause the old ones were pretty bent. But was surprised at how affordable the mounting brackets were at the dealer, about $20 each as I recall. (OTOH, the bumper was hundreds more $$ at the dealer.)
