door crack and frame integrity

I have small (1/4") cracks in both doors.
Do these affect the strength of the door, or are they just an appearance thing? Thanks for reading this.

weakness in door skin

Well from what I've read these cracks can grow, so once it's cracked some, it could continue. It seems to be a stress fracture as the metal continually flexes.

I have never considered the cracks anything more than petty blemishes in the sheet metal skin of the door. They do not cross over into the door structure. I'm not an engineer but I can see no way that this would ever be considered much more than a cosmetic issue. Certainly not a safety one. Having said that, I did have mine fixed this summer while I was out of town on vacation. They did a great job. I had reported the concern to my service guy within days of buying my used truck about 18 months ago, just under the 3/36 warranty. I told them I was going to hold off until a real fix came out. They had fixed a few before mine just doing spot welding and repainting. Mine was their first to use the patch kit.
