1997 F150 XLT clear coat peeling

My right front fender clear coat seems to be peeling away. Been gradually going for a few months now.

Any suggestions on an economical way to repair it?

Thanks!

PS - ignore the dirt.

Take it to a paint shop. They will need to sand and re-paint the spots that are pealing.

It's from not waxing enough, and/or using quality sealant.

It's a tough fix for a do it yourself repair. As soon as you try and sand it, you are going to break through the basecoat. If you only sanded and repainted both fenders, the colors to the front doors, and the hood would look way off.

As a solution, I would look for a spot repair company. If you are in a large center, they should be around. Ask around at a few dealerships (see the used car manager) and see who they use for their used car spot repairs for minor paint defects.
