bumpers or brush guard

I'm trying to decide to go with a bumper replacement or just a brush guard. 2007 white king ranch. Any suggestions?

Are you going to get a winch? Personally, I would rather pay another $400 for a bumper replacement. You get so much more from a bumper than a brush guard. If you hit something pretty hard with a brush guard it's going to tear up the brush guard and the front of the truck

What he said^. Brush guards look cool, but in the end they'll end up doing more damage in the case of a front end collision than they'd help, they'll push right into your hood.

But pictures of your truck could also help us decide what to tell you.

The only thing is my truck is not lifted. I don't know how a replacement would look without lifting it first? The only changes that I have done are putting mickey thompson wheels on it.

I would just level it. That's cheap and easy. $70ish for spacers if you have a 2004-present or free if you have a pre-2004 plus $60-$70 for an alignment. What style of replacement bumper were you looking at? The usual type like a ranch hand? Or one of the higher clearence ones like Iron Bull or Road Armor? You probably do need a lift for an Iron Bull or Road Armor to not look funny

Here's my truck with an Iron Bull:

Just saw you have a 2007. My bad. So you could level your truck for around $150 including alignment. Mine is a 2006 with a 6" Fabtech Lift and 35x12.50 Mud Grapplers

Yeah I was leaning more toward the ranch hand. I see you are in Auburn which is where I live too. Did you do your own work or did you have somebody around here do it for you? Is there a good place around to order stuff too?

I'm from Montgomery. I'm in school at Auburn. I put the lift on at home, and I got Truck Customs in Montgomery to do the gears and the Warrior spray-on bedliner. I've done the other stuff like putting the bumper and fender flares on and wiring the lights and small stuff like that. I just didn't trust myself to do the gears. The only truck shop I know of in Auburn is Custom Trucks Unlimited. I've never done anything with them. There were 2 other shops but they both closed in the past year or so. What are you wanting to do to your truck?

keep an eye on craig's list for bumpers. I've seen several good deals on there. I got mine brand new for $1100, and it usually sells for $1600. I would get the 2.5" leveling kit. Those ranch hand bumpers weigh about 250lbs if I remember correctly. It will probably push the front end down 1/4 to 1/2 inch if you have stock front coil overs
