Ahh Help needed on Door crack fix.

When I bought my truck last week I was told they were going to send it to a Ford Dealership in Hayward to get it repaired.

Well last night I recieved a call from them telling me an area body shop was going to do the repair and they would be contacting me shortly.

When I talked to their body shop guy he didn't have any idea what was needed and wanted to see what the crack looked like and where it was. He doesn't know anything about these stress cracks or how Ford fixes them but he does most of the dealerships work for them.

I'm at a loss here and fear I'm going to get screwed!! I'm pissed right now about it too!

What do they do to repair an already cracked Door? I'm not looking forward to them ruining my truck now!!!

Please any suggestions you can send my way will be greatly appreciated!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Well they were going to fix my truck anyway. I did print out the TSB so the body shop knew what to do.

I will go in soon. I'm hoping on next week. They wanted it last monday but I needed it for the weekend since we still haven't got our Accord back! Grrrr

Hey Marty, just got my 2000 f150 back today.took it in on tues mornin they repaired the cracked drivers side door and installed some type of stiffener to both doors to prevent future cracks.my truck has 31,000 miles so it's still under warrenty . They cleaned it inside and out looked better than when I left it.I just hope cracks don't return, heard some say it happens.I got mine repaired at my dealer Bayshore Ford in New Castle, De. I had my truck pinstriped and I was worried about them matching the stripes. It came out unnoticed I can't tell they did a thing except the crack is gone.good luck & keep on truckin.
