bumper swap question 07 to 09

bumper swap question 07 to 09

hi
working on my son in laws 07 s cab. we already swaped the mirrors for ones from an '09. plugged right in and the power/blinkers worked no probs. want to get the heat working too. but for now its just a bumper question. will a rear bumper from an '09 bolt up to an '07? they look very similar.

Considering 04 and 05 bumpers will not bolt up to 06 -08 (and they are the same generation), I doubt and 09+ will bolt up to the previous generation.

I looked at Tasca to see what the diagrams looked like. The mounting brackets for the 07 & 09 look quite different. Not sure it would work.

Are you referring to all bumpers or just the rears? The fronts can be done. One modification. Put an 04 bumper on my brother's 08.

Are you referring to all bumpers or just the rears? The fronts can be done. One modification. Put an 04 bumper on my brother's 08.
I was referring to the bumpers being able to bolt up without modification. If you get new mounting hardware, it'll work, yes. But it's not plug n' play.

Gotcha. You are correct then. Is that true about the rears as well? If so, I didn't know that.

Yes I think the mounting system were a 2 bracket vs 3 system or something like that between 04-05 and 06-08.

The bumper completely unbolts from the all brackets (04-08) if you want to go that far, but I've never seen an 09+ bumper.
