loose mirror?
loose mirror?
Not sure if this is the right spot, so let me know if it is not, and i have tried searching with no luck. I have a 06 screw lariat, and the driver side mirror has been some what lose since I've bought it, not the whole assemble just the actual mirror.... it shakes as if the bass is to loud, and is only really noticeable at highway speeds. Idk if it has gotten worse with millage or if i am just noticing it more, but it has become kind of annoying, does any one no the cause of this or how to fix it without buying a new mirror? thanks.
Might have busted one of the mounts from the mirror glass to the mirror actuator/motor. Some vehicles you have the option to buy the complete mirror assembly or the individual components, such as the motor, glass and housing. I have not seen where you can buy the individual components for the f150. I could double check when I get to work.
I haven't tried this but you may be able to pop the glass off the motor and pull a motor out of a used one. If the motor is built into the housing you wont be able to.
Of course if the issue is that the mount on the glass side is what is broken you might be able to swap the glass out of a used one. Again, I have not tried this so i don't know if it would even work.
Worse case scenario you are buying a mirror. There are many places to get A/M and discounted OEM mirrors.
Try:
car-part.com - to search for used mirrors at local salvage yards
lkqcorp.com - Go to find location and see if they have a facility near you. They sell A/M parts as well as recycled.
tascaparts.com - Many members have referenced this site. It is has many OEM parts at discounted prices.
