Got out of work to walk up to my truck and see my driver side mirror laying next to my truck! Not the whole thing just the actual mirror, it was smashed and the mirror assembly had a crack in it like it was hit. I put the mirror back into place and found out that the motor will got up and down just not left to right??? do i got to replace the whole thing??

 

Sounds like you would need to replace the whole assembly. I believe you can get an aftermarket replacment assembly for pretty cheap.
