Cable replacement from interior door handle to latch.

Need help on replacing the cable from the interior door handle, drivers door, to the latch. I have the panel off and can see the cable move within the sheath but it does not operate the latch. The latch is still operational from the outside door handle. Talked to Ford house and they only offer complete replacement of the latch, cable and interior handle for $200.

Any help from the experts will be appreciated.

Sound like the end of the cable broke or has come off, might want to try and remove the latch and test it out side of the door, also as a cheaper way if it is broke try a few junk yards

i agree, the cable is probably out somewhere between the inside handle and the latch. It is fairly simple to do just time consuming and a bit aggravating.

Grab a flash light and pull the moister barrier to make sure the cable is the problem.
Look at the latch and see if the cable is pulling when you pull the door handle (inside)
if its not then it is the cable. if it is then the latch may be the problem.
