2008 F150 Undercoating

Hey Guys,

I am trying to complete my "to-do" list with my newly purchased 2008 F150 SCREW Lariat.

My next Item was to do an Undercoat. We have a lot of salty roads here in South Dakota and I wanted to do this project for rust protection and maybe a little sound-dampening.

The Ford Dealer will not undercoat a used vehicle. Another independent shop in town has done several and they charge $800. I thought this to be a little high so he explained that it is a 2-day job. They put the truck up on the rack, cover various parts, cables, etc. with foil, do some sort of cleaning & prep, and then apply a 3-M Undercoating Product. He told me they get very detailed in the application. I asked about the Rhino Product and he told me that it would add another $200 to the price.

I was just curious if anyone has had this done and what little things or surprises I should know about.

Thanks!
Jeff
