I was driving down the interstate and heard some loud banging on my roof. I pulled over and saw that the rubber piece on top of the windshield was half off the truck! The black glue was all over the place. I took the rubber piece off, and drove home.

Is this common? I was thinking maybe the windshield had been replaced on the truck before, and they used some crappy glue. The rubber piece looks fine.

What kind of glue should I use to put this back on? It did not seem to want to go back on very easily, so i might need a rubber mallet. I would hate to drive in the rain as I am afraid of it leaking.
