I've heard of guys using Line-X, but nothing worked on mine once they started to go. Every winter I had to doctor them up. Finally I just replaced the panel, - should have doe that along time ago.

I just did mine last weekend did the bumpers and rocker panels I too had the rust issues that were a pain. Looks pretty good especially if you use your truck off road.

You would need to take care of the rust before you do this. if you dont then eventually the material you sprayed on the bed will come up due to addl rust forming. if you dont care about that then just prep as good as possible and spray on the material.

being that you said you wanted to "fix" the issue i would try to take care of any rust spots either by grinding the rust of the affected areas or by using patch panels if the rust has ate completely through. treat the repaired areas with a rust inhibitor such as "por 15" ( i think thats what its called).

also may be easier to replace the outer bedside panel as jbrew said.

If you treat the rust by grinding give it a couple years and it WILL be back.

The only way to truly get rid of it is with new metal. By welding in a patch panel or new bed side
