Question Color Questions???

So this is a different question, but what color was the exterior plastic on my truck (bed rails, wiper cowl, grill, etc.) when it was new? I can't tell if its faded from black or if it was grey. My truck is the toreador red with the grey two-tone bottom. Here's a pic:

Thanks for your help.

Thanks! Its so hard to tell. When I clean the grill of my truck, I just couldn't tell if it was supposed to be black or grey. So if I were to repaint everything to bring it back, I should go with black then? What about the valence under the chrome part of the front bumper? Thats grey right? Thanks again for your help.

The valances seem to be a dark gray. If you paint the plastics than I would suggest doing the valance to match OR painting the valance to match the paint on your rocker panels and fender flares. The plastics are tough anyway...my side steps and bumper plastics are black (I put trim cleaner on them too) but the bed rails are more gray...probably just from fading. The trim cleaner doesn't help that much on them.

That's a sweet lookin truck too!

Thanks for the input and the compliment. How's your PTM valence holding up? Any better or worse than normal wear and tear? You have a very clean looking truck. Are those an OEM smoked headlights? Where'd you get them?

The valance is holdin up great. You have to go through the whole process of sanding, adhesion promotor, primer, bascoat, clear, etc. I did it back in Oct. and still looks good. The headlights are smoked crystal and I got them off ebay. Thanks for the compliment too...I don't see the point of investing time and energy..not to mention money...into the truck and keeping it dirty.
