Picked up a 2010 Expedition that has the MYKEY feature. The key also has the FOB built into the end of the key instead of a separate unit.

I plan to have an aftermarket alarm/remote start installed w/ it's own fob... I was thinking about getting a standard transponder key instead of the one w/ the built-in FOB to reduce "confusion" and the size of the thing in my pocket.

Can I get a regular transponder key for like an 09 Expedition, have it cut and program it without any problems? Or is there a difference in how the transponder works between the 09 and 10 Expeditions?

 

Might try a different section, body section may not get you the exact answer you need. I am going to say probably since people use the fusion key on older F-150s. You may lose your mykey features though going to the "older" key style. Are they important to you?
