what paint do i use for this?

i just got a new 4x4 bumper from a junk yard and i need to paint the top plastic peice to match my truck. it is like $100 to get it painted at a shop. is there a way i could paint it with a spray paint? what kind do i need to buy? i really don't want to pay a place to do it when it is that expensive.

any help will be appreciated. thanks

Duplicolor. You can buy it in a spray can. All you need is your paint code.

Paint code is on a sticker inside the door jab and there will be a book at the auto parts store that will tell you the duplicolor paint that goes with that code. Also get 600, 1000, and 2000 grit sand paper and adhesion promoter. And it can be easily done.

It'll take time to do a good job but it's not hard. Yea clean it off the. Sand it down with the 600 grit to rough up the surface and give the paint something to stick too. Then do a couple coats ofthe adhesion promoter and then color wetsand 1000 repeating till looks good then use 2000 the last time then clear. Check out raptor's recent thread about doing more ptm on his valence and you can use his color and clear process as a guide.

On the color though they might only sell it in a 5oz can which means your gonna need alot. My grille surround took 4 cans

bumper looks good. is it silver now? you could do what ever color you want to really but the red would look cool but and then doing the rear bumper step pads red to would be tight

You should be able to just paint over it after sanding and adhesion promoter
