Remove door panels lub window guides 2005 expedition
2005 EXPEDITION Eddie B.
The pass. side window went up very slow and down slow. With the help of the forum decided to lube the window tracks. Forum suggested that it probably was not the motor or mechanism.
To remove the door panel read as listed below.
[*]Pry out 3/4 in. by 6 in. long plastic cover behind door pull and remove two torx screws holding panel.
[*]Remove two hex head screws at the bottom of the panel.
[*]Grab panel at the ends and pull straight up and out to remove panel.[/LIST]
Disconnect switches and set panel aside to remove the black foam from the door.
Starting at the upper right corner, CAREFULLY pull black foam and sealer to remove black foam with sealer attached for access to window guides (or speakers).
Reconnect switches to be able to operate window. Set panel in door opening.
TO LUBE WINDOW GUIDES:
I used a spray can of white grease with red straw attached and sprayed both guides, the ends of the cables, up and down at the cables at the motor, and with the window up, sprayed in the window track with the red straw, and with the window down sprayed in the track front and back. You can clean the grease off the glass later.
After a few times running the window up and down it works as new and saved about $400.00.
This is very easy to do and takes about an hour to complete.
