Windshield Leak - drip drip drip

The front windshield in my 2002 F-250 directly in front of the driver has an occasional small leak...(drips that start to run down inside) when it rains extremely hard or when I go thru a automated car wash. Then it stops... . It only does this when extreme pressure is applying the water and it is only in 1 specific location about 1/2 inch wide.. . I contacted the local FoMoCo body shop and they said the entire windshield should be removed and reset in new sealer.. I don't want to pay 100's of dollars for an infrequent small leak.. but want to stop it if I can...Is there anyhting that I can do / apply to possibly cure this problem?

you can try running a bead of this across the top and down the sides, pull back the molding to get it down in there good. if that doesnt work then the windshield will need to be pulled out and redone properly. if you find someone thats good they can pull your glass out without breaking it, then reinstall it. the guy im working with charges $75 to do it but im not sure what kinda prices you'll find where you're at.

You would be far better off taking this to a glass company that does windshields than taking it to a dealer. The dealer's usually farm out glass work to the glass companies.
