Have a question about doors on my buds truck. The area is at the bottom of the doors, where the drain holes are located. This is the first place I see rust starting on F150s. The problem is the paint is bubbling up and there are signs of rust, where the outter panel is pinched to the inner panel. The doors are by no means rusted through.

My question is the rust, once started in this area impossible to stop and the door will need to be re-skinned.

Can I just sand all the bubbling paint and rust off, prep the metal the some kind of inhibitor and repaint.TIA
