How would you fix this damage? I know...it should never have gotten this far but it is what it is.
I want to at the minimum keep it from spreading and at the most fix it. I'm just not sure how to go about doing that.
Any ideas?

My 01 is showing signs of that as well but it hasn't broken through yet. But around here they use lots of salt on the roads and it was bound to happen. Plus Ford had an issue with door pinch seals back then. I am going to get mine fixed at a body shop along with the hood chips from 133K miles of commuting up and down I-95. Hopefully I can get it done without a complete repaint.
You need to cut that section out and weld new sheetmetal in.... rust is like cancer, even if you cover it up its still gonna come back. You need to remove it all.
You could prob get away with breaking the paintline under the molding, but its not something I would do.
The easy route is to find a door at a junkyard the same color as your truck and swap.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was hoping someone said something like "Cut it out and put some bondo in it!"
I think I'll give pull-a-part a call tomorrow and see if they have a door. I'm not sure how much a paint job like this will cost but how expensive can it be?
