Window Regulator DYI.....? Found! Thanks......

Hi Guys........

Although I've searched several combinations, I can't seem to find a "How it's done" thread on a window regulator R&R for my 2005 F-150.........Anybody remember one?

Thanks........

Use this link to get you into the window.

Here is some help on the regulator:

A tip or two, when you get to the regulator, left the glass up out of the way. Some use duct tape around the window on the outside, to hold it up, I used vise grips on the channel. It really is not a difficult job, just something new and have to figure it out as you go. Takes a couple of hours. The hardest part for me was getting the plastic sheeting peeled off and then back in place.

Thanks Jim,

I have the window taped in the up position already.......not stylish, but much better on the freeway. I'll do the R&R next week.

Thanks for the encouragement and photos of the door panel R&R.... . The nylon slot of cable retainer had broken away. I was able to wire the cable end to the nylon lifing car by drilling into the steel bracket that is molded into it, and using stainless safety wire to secure it. It may break somewhere else, but it ain't coming out ot that piece again . Everything else looked and felt good. Took a bit over 2 hours, a good portion of which was figuring out how to recable and tension the completed assembly. Feels good to get a "freebie".

Thanks again....!
