Is a grille with broken tabs still mountable?

As long as the tabs on the surround are good then the grille tabs are not a huge problem. You just have to use something to fill the space. The grille tabs push against the surround tabs holding things together. I have used flexible plastic to do this and have heard of others using silicone.
