Factory flares-installation

Does anyone have a template for drilling small holes for adding factory flares to a '04-'08 scab? styleside bed if it makes any diff. Or is there some other way to do this,,,i bought a used set from a person from this forum,, they are nice but i hate to drill holes in the fenders for the snaps and having to guess at it. Also, i notice the underside has a few holes where looks like there was some kind of fastner, probably a clip. any suggestions appreciated....rossford. 05 scab

I would clamp it in place with c-clamps or somthing similar, make sure it's where I want it, then drill away! Last flares I installed I used small stainless steel allen head bolts with nyloc nuts so I could remove them if need be.

But tese are the factory type,,,no visible fastners. they have snap in plastic button type 'fasteners" from behind the flare, not visible from outside. I'm thinking about holding it in place,, and making a small scratch mark or use a silver marker of some kind, and get as close to the snap as possible. then make a mark (about 6 per flare) and then i got to get the right drill size!! Then theres the inside plastic xmas tree type push in snaps 90 degs from the outside, about 4 per flare. Im very particular so this sounds like almost an all day job!! But once you do one, you got to do all 4......i think could be a pita job...thanks

Did you ever find out how to easily install the factory fender flares. I am looking at the same install. Anyone?

they are still setting in my shop,,,,i just got to make myself get out there and find out the right drill size,,,carefully mark a spot somehow,,,(about 8 per flare) and start drilling. of which i am hesitant of drilling all these holes in the fenders. And main thing,,,once you start, you got to do all 4 !!! or at least one side lol. So i would need to start early so i can have all this done before dark. And i am missing a couple of the little black plastic fastners. Once you start, theres no turning back. I am thinking about getting a est. from a body shop. Those Arz. beige flares are going to look so cool on a black truck... rossford

Has anyone tried the alternative method of installing OEM flares. That is attaching them from the underside and doing away with the Xmas tree clips?
If you have can you do a follow up with the install and state the pros and cons of such an install. How are they holding up and is the seam along the fender line noticeable?

You might be able to use doublesided 3m tape + applicater glue. Basically the same method for installing body kits/ ground effects.
