Powder Coating Bumpers

I have a 2007 Grey XLT Supercrew F150 with 2WD so it has chrome front and back bumpers but i think that it looks cheap so I was wondering if anyone knew how to or if it was even possible to order the bumpers that match my paint (such as the FX2 or FX4 bumpers) or if I could just get them powder coated the same color...any suggestions would be appreciated
thanks

Personally I like chrome bumpers. But if you want PTM it can be done. Painting chrome can be tough. I've seen it done but I have also seen it chip. Talk to a local body shop about it they may have suggestions. Powdercoating would be most durable for sure but you might have trouble color matching if thats what your going for? The bumpers that come on the FX's are unchromed and painted at factory. Basically a primed bumper. You could order them and have them painted. Watch the classified ads on here. You might catch someone selling a bumper. It can be done, just depends on how much money you are willing to put towards it?

Theyll need to be sandblasted to get the plating off if you paint them.

I painted mine, used to be chrome... yuck

The hardest part of the job will be sandblasting such large parts. The most expensive part will be color-matched metal-flake powder. But if you have them powdered in ANY color, you can get them painted because paint sticks very well to powder. Argent & white rims (as on '80-96 trucks) are powdered gray before being painted, and you never see them peeling.

I blasted my rear axle & front bumper to get them powdered, and although I'm sure you're after a better look, I'm really happy with how they came out.

keep us posted what you do, and if your front bumper has round fogs and you sell the front bumper let me know.
