Remove 3M double sided tape???

Looking for suggestions on how to remove 3M double sided tape without ruining the finsh on door handles. I bought some Putco Chrome door handles about a year ago and really didn't care for the looks of them...too much chrome. Over the weekend I attempted to remove them, but the 3M tape did not come off...I tried to carefully scrap it off, but was worried about scratching the surface of the original door handles.

Anyone have any suggestions other than just being careful? I guess I'm looking for a suggestion to do this quickly...I could be careful and take two hours to get it off, but I'm not that patient. Could it be that it just wasn't warm enough outside...it was in the mid 50's over the weekend.

Thanks

Get yourself a heat gun and it'll come right off. It may leave a little adhesive behind but nothing an adhesive remover won't fix.

Just a quick reminder don't leave the heat gun in one spot for a long time, otherwise you can ruin the paint.
