Tiny little rust dots in the paint?!

I've got tiny little rust pin sized spots all over my '05 trucks white paint. These spots come off with my fingernail. But there are so many - how the heck do you get rid of them easily. The truck is mint and not a rust bucket - but has this issue with the finish. I do recall seeing something about this in the Ford TSB. Anyone else with this issue?
Paul.

Well sounds like Rail dust from the snowplows. I had this problem last spring on my 07 thought the darn thing was rusting out already. Your truck needs a clay bar treatment im guessing, cause thats what i did to solve my problem.
Look thru the detailing section for more info if you want.

Those tiny rust spots, is from brake dust. Claybar will get rid of 'em. I suggest using the red clay since you have a light colored paint.

theyre right its brake dust, clay bar will work. after you remove them keep it waxed good and it will come off when you wash it with a brush.

Just another post agreeing with above answers. Had to clay bar the hood of our brand new F550 Brush Truck when they delivered it to the FD. Fire apparatus builders don't take near the make ready ready time your typical dealer might.

Switching from all lime-green to white over lime-green has added considerably to the upkeep of fleet maintenance...

I have the same thing on my truck and it's not even a year old. Definitely rail dust, brake dust and industrial fallout. I plan on using a clay bar as soon as it gets warmer.

I waxed yesterday and most of them disappeared though.

Thanks alot guys, I'm glad to know that this is something common with an easy solution. I will use Claybar as soon as the weather gets warmer.
Thanks again,
Paul.
