rear bumper step pad removal

I own a chrome edition 2007 f150 style side . I need to remove the rear bumper step pad. It feels like if I just pull it up/off the clips will brake. I already have the license lights and the spare tire lock removed. In other words once it is removed will I have to purchase a new one. Just Wondering. Thanks

I bolted mine down using big old screws. Thing doesn't move now. Just an idea, not exactly sure what your working with.

Mine has been off once, didnt go back on right, I am getting a new one in the spring...its impossible without taking the bumper off and squeezing the back side of every clip to not break about half of them, I did that on my ranger when I swapped the bumper and I didnt break any

Even with the bumper off its still a pain in the **** to remove... like said above you have to squeeze the push tabs together from the underside in order for them to come out. I still broke 2 of mine but used plastic epoxy to fix them.
