Drivers side mirror replacement

Does anyone know how to replace a drivers side pedestal style mirror? Mine was hit and I need to replace it. The dealer wants 700 for a new one and 100bucks to put it on. I found one at a junk yard for 400 bucks and I was wondering if I could put it on myself. It's on a lariat so it has the electric folding, heat, dim, puddle lamp. Any help would be approeciated.

There are threads on here on how to remove the door panel, then you should have access to the mirror mounting nuts.

I'm in the same boat. I was on a jobsite and clipped something. I'm trying to find an updated set of mirrors with the signals built in. Once I find those I get to do the fun task you're about to take on.

Good luck.

If either of you have a damaged power fold mirror that you'd like to get rid of I might be interested. I really don't care what it looks like for my project - as long as the power fold circuitry is still there. Let me know.

I'll let you know if I am able to replace the damaged one. The folding still works. The glass and the plastic housing is broken.
