What a time for my sunroof assembly to break!
So I'm driving down the road the other night, felt like looking at the stars and rockin out to some AC/DC, hit the trusty automatic Sunroof Open Button and half way back I hear a POP! I looked at my girl and was like WTF!? pushed closed and thought it had resecured. Lets fast forward to the morning when I look out my bedroom window to notice a gap between my sunroof seal and roof. I go down to close it and my sunroof won't push up and seal. I bought an aftermarket warranty with my 2004 F150 Lariat for JUST this type of B.S. because the same thing happened to my Infiniti one cold winter day. Long story short:Track Assembly isn't covered in my warranty, for that I would have had to buy the "PREMIUM" option. I've learned my lesson for life buying those SOB's!. So the dealership then tells me that if I want it fixed and to avoid the $150 diagnostic fee that it's gonna cost me..... $1800.00+ after tax!!
I was like, "can you close it?" and they said no, and that maybe an after market place could. I could have thrown myself under my truck and told em, "Punch it!!" The lowest I could find someone here in the Seattle area to fix the damn thing was just over $1000.00. With the times the way they are, this was the last damn thing I needed.
So....here I am at the Mercy of our wonderful Forum. Can anybody help me with What to expect, the difficulties, tools needed, where I could purchase the parts and any other helpful information? I found a repair kit on ebay for like $130 after shipping. That looks like it may be the way to go.

2004 Lariat sunroof repair video?
exact same problem here, i bought the parts from the Sunroof Doctor, asked them to email the directions to me first so i could determine if it was within my capabilities, they didn't get the directions to me until after the purchase and the directions absolutely suck, they might be fine for a sunroof repair place that does it all the time but for Joe Jr Mechanic not so great, has anyone put together a video of how to replace the sunroof components?
