New sheetmetal ??

Can someone point me the right direction to get new rockers ? The rockers on my screw are gone. Serveral holes all along the bottom of both sides. What a piece of poop, I still cant believe how bad this thing is rusted...

Not sure where to get new ones. You might have to go a junk yard and cut some off.

I just fixed mine . Cut out all the metal on the bottom of both rockers . Welded in new pieces of steel 4" x 75" and then had painted and the insides rustproofed . Lookes brand new again . The Supercrew trucks that have the rusted Rocker problem , it's caused by either the windshield leaking , third brake light leaking , back window leaking or a body joint leaking . They rust from the inside out because water is leaking down into the rocker from one of the above mentioned areas . You might want to find the leak first . The windshield leaking is what caused my rockers to rust out .

Mine are rusted on both sides, so I don't think it's a leak.

Yea mine were rusted on both sides as well , so whats your point ? Water can run down both sides . You ever wonder why this is a problem on Supercrew's only ? I've seen 1997-2002 Supercabs & Regular cabs with 200,000 miles , that were driven their entire lives in Michigan (Bad Winters & Road Salt). The rockers were as solid as the day the truck was new. I'm telling you , it's a water leak and they rust from the inside out .

I am not sure if the leak is the answer either. Mine are rusted out from the inside and after removing the rubber plugs to inspect I found they are FILLED with sand and road crap. I doubt the sand is coming in from a leak. It must get in from the underside. Good replacements will probably outlast the rest of the truck anyway so finding the problem is not a priority...

I am waiting until winter is over. I was looking at the rockers again today, and I swear I can watch them get rustier.I pressed on the one spot and my finger went straight through. One way to look at it, no metal = no rust.

I can understand if the windsield leaks causing this, but the third brake light? I pulled the carpet back from under the dash, thats dry.Pulled the carpet up from the sill plates, thats dry also. I can only ASSume "salt belt" beating up my truck. Or is it just another poor design by FORD that would run the water directly to the rockers for some stupid reason?

For now I park next to dead trees, under crumbling bridges, double park on the express way. I feel like Jack Benny, "Please somebody take my truck".
