Tailgate stuck closed...HELP!!!

My tailgate is stuck closed and I can't open it (yes it's unlocked).

When I try opening it, I can hear the latches roatate, I'm just not sure if they are rotating enough; or if both sides are even rotating. Anybody have an idea how I can get the tailgate open?

you can take off the access cover on the inside and see what kinda of movement you have on the backside of the handle.

should be like 6 torx heads i believe

Have you tried to open the tailgate with the truck parked on a level surface? My previous truck would would flex just enough to bind the tailgate if parked oddly on an incline.

fixed

I got it fixed. I pulled off the trim strip on top of the tailgate. There are lighting holes along the top so I was able to look inside. The left side push/pull rod from the latch was disconnected from the right side latch. Wasn't able to reconnect it, but I was able to stick a screw driver down inside and open the latch. Thanks for the input!!!
