GEM Module/Windshield leaks
GEM Module/Windshield leaks
Ok...I've read on here about the windshield leaking into the GEM module...and I'm a firm believer. However when I took my wife's truck to the glass man last week to get her windshield replaced (different truck...not a Ford), I spoke with the glass tech. He said he believes it's not the glass seal. Does anyone have any idea on WHERE the glass usually leaks? I mean is it usually along the bottom of the windshield or down the a-pillar? He told me he'd put some soap and spray compressed air to make it bubble...but I want to make sure he puts the soap in the right areas.
He's gonna be doing an R&R on the back glass already for the butyl seal there....I'm probably gonna get him to do the R&R on the front glass as well....but I wanted some more proof if possible.....
Thanx.

Well it appears that part of my GEM is officially DEAD!
No MAP lights, no underhood lights, no glove compartment lights. Dome light only works when door is open. Fuse is ok. Courtesy lights work when door is open.....
Anyone know where, other than a dealer, one can be purchased? I know about salvage yards...and that's an option....but I'd like to find one new or remanufactured (A1 Cardone does them...however not for 4x4's)
Any other information would be helpful. I've already got a "glass appt" scheduled...but I think that may be a battle convincing the glass tech to R&R the front glass...as he's already stated he doesn't think it's the front glass that leaks.
