I've got leaks!!

2004 F150, I've get wet carpet when it's raining out, I've tried to find where it's coming in from, pulled off both lower side panels, (fuse box and hood latch covers, I also get some water coming in from the rear window, no the truck has never been in an accident, the weather stripping looks like it is still holding well. any history of this happening, any ideas? checked underside to see what the floor pans might be looking like, but they looked fine. will consider all suggestions.

Check your third brake light. They are known for leaking inside the cab.

The seal or maybe a cracked cover. If its leaking the water will get in through the wire hole. Either get a new seal or use some clear silicon on the old seal.

thanks

after searching for other postings, it does appear that the 3rd brake light is the likely source, going to try to seal it myself, and if that doesn't work, guess going to the dealer to see. thanks for the info.

I too have leaks in the back window of my 2000 F150 4x4. However mine is on the passenger side of the brake light. Talked to a glass repair person...and they say the butyl seal breaks down over time. They can do a R&R on the back sliding glass for $150...I'm bringing mine in next week.

I've tried the 3rd brake light...and it was bone dry....so I sealed it again anyways...next rain...still had leaks....that's when I started looking for seal breakdowns....
