I own a 2001 Ford F150 Supercrew 4x4 and I need a new tailgate. Does anyone know what other years would work for my truck.

 

Your SuperCrew ran from 2000 thru 2003.
You are limited to SuperCrew cab only for those years.
The Regular cab and the Super cab trucks of that generation have a wider tailgate than your SuperCrew.

 

what about flareside trucks?

are their tailgates the same??

I don't know if there are three different sizes (SuperCrew - Flareside - Styleside)

or
whether there are two sizes (Styleside - Flareside/SuperCrew)

Until you measure, it's probably best to stick with your own kind.
I do know the Flareside is a different size than the Styleside.
Somebody else will have to chime in on whether the Flareside(Regcab/Supercab) has the same tailgate as the superCrew.

 

You can use a non-SCrew flareside bed or a true SCrew bed tailgate.

Those are the same. As in they are both technically considered flareside beds.

So, I suppose a flareside bed from 97-03 fits your needs.
