So I don't post a whole lot but read the forums for hours every day. I'm blacking out my 08 and I wanna black out the rear bumper. A paint to match bumper would run me $380 so I was wondering what else I could do.

Can I sandblast the chrome off the rear bumper and have it painted to match the rest of the truck?

 

No, sandblasting will not remove the chrome. Take the bumper to a chrome plater and they will remove it for a little less than half the price to chrome it.

 

sandblasting will remove it. ive watched it done twice. it was on chevy bumpers both times though. im not sure how much different they are than fords though
