2000 f150 4.6l 76000mi Hood paint flaking bubbling aluminum corrosion. Dealer wants $600 to strip down fix and repaint hood. does anybody have this problem

 

Most of our 2000 7700's at work seemed to have this problem ... they were repaired several years ago (I have no idea if Ford helped with the cost). Our '03 7700's don't seem to have this problem, that I've noticed (mine doesn't). If I recall correctly, and at my age that's a pretty big if, the corrosion was on the front of the hoods on the drivers side. I haven't noticed any problem with my '99 ... is it a 2000 problem only?

 

My 2000 had this problem. Now my 2007 is starting the same way. Fixing under warranty...
