Painted emblem black

so after looking at blackoutfx4(i think thats his name) truck i was inspired to take my blackout theme to the next level. already painted the valance, bed rails, wheels are black, toolbox is black. pretty much only the bumpers and grille arent black or red now. so i painted the emblem on the tailgate.

give you guys an idea of the whole look of the truck. i followed his directions to the T and it looks great. my question is should i paint the side ones?

i have an xl so theres the little chrome xl on there. i thought about using my touch up paint to paint the f-150 or the xl or both red or just leaving it all black. what do you guys think?

Thumbs up good job

Looks nice, I've been planning on doing the same blackout paint job to my future f-150 for the emblems and etc. Question though, how do you safely remove the emblems for painting and what are the steps and paint you used? I'm going for a flat black look like yours and blackoutfx4.

i didnt remove them cause i didnt want to mess up the adhesive. i took blue painters tape and taped it off really good. then i sanded the emblems with 200 to get the shine off, then 600 to smooth them out. took some carboard type painting paper and masked it off further. did about 5-6 thin coats of fusion platic spray in satin black. worked great. probably going to do the side emblems this weekend

plastic?

are all the emblems plastic? they looked metal to me.. but i havent looked lately, anywho how well does the krylon hold up?

hate to bother, but any ideas on gettin a black exhaust? Im looking into a magnaflow SIDO rear cat-back system but the tips are polished stainless steel (practically chrome)

I've heard someone used black engine block paint from autozone or something, any suggestions?

yeah they are metal but the paint isnt just for plastic,it just works on plastic. i got it mainly for the fact that it doesnt require sanding or priming so i knew it would stick well. i just painted them yesterday so ill let you know in the future how it holds up. as for the exhaust you can either sand/scuff them and prime then paint them with high temp paint or you can have the stainless cut off and a black chrome tip put on,searh for them, they exist.

If you have some paint left over, I'd also paint those door handles.

Other than that, looks nice

Oh yea, also get some high temp spray paint, and paint that tail pipe, and whatever else is visible to people driving behind you. Just a suggestion.

if your talking to me im defintaly thinking about the door handles. as for the exhaust a dumped muffler is in the works so painting the tailpipe is kinda pointless
