Third door 'locked'

Recently I found that the third door of my 98 F150 doesn't open anymore.
The top lock (the part that grabs the frame (sorry, technical English term not known to me!)) seems to be stuck.

I removed the inner window frame but see no way to 'open' the door for further inspection. According to the local shop this could be having a couple of causes and parts are pretty expensive (if you don't need them).

Anyone knows how I might be able to open the top lock?
There is a small hole but although I think it is the lock it doesn't really feels like movable.

Help appreciated !

John

ive read this before, i believe there is a cable that goes up the B pillar up to that latch, and that cable will break over time, see if you can do a forum search about this.

Fixed

Thanks, did a search and found how to open the door, the outer cable slipped past the plate.
Used two washers (bigger and smaller one), cut through so I could pass the cable, turned the two washers and glued them.
To ensure the cable stayed in place I used two cable ties to fix this to the plate.

Thanks

John

Sweet A whole lot cheaper than taking it to the dealer!
