Antenna Issue

I have a 2004 F-150 screw and have had an issue with the antenna comming loose. At first the dealership tightened it under warranty. About six months later, I took it back and the told me the repair was not a warranty item and charged me $75 to fix it (they let me know that after they fixed it). It is loose again now and I am at a loss as to what to do. The antenna does just touch the top of my garage door when I drive in; but maybe by 1/8". I don't think this sould affect the antenna. Can I cut it down by an inch? I have no idea how to replace it. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Unscrew the antenna and apply a drop of blue Loctite thread lock to the threads and screw the antenna back on and lightly tighten.

Yes, you can trim its height.

I did it to mine for the exact reason you mentioned.
